You’ve lost your beauty
To the abusive
Neglectful muses
You keep pursing
the sun following the moon
is increasingly useless to you
As you drift from conceptions you thought you knew
Anti-gravitational thoughts
Leaving you with unearthed roots
Free to float
Or be pushed around by wind currents
Increasingly in conflict with your needs as a human
Letting gratifications cradle you
Because
what else presents as comfort,
if all your wants are burdens too?
~~~
You keep going, further on
For return, the higher you go, seems more & more imponderable
Left with only one destination
Breaching the atmosphere
Up here
You’ve dropped your shield of magnetism
And solar winds come like the biggest cataclysms of uncharted ocean
They’re indiscriminate
As they raze your skin
Releasing you from the form you came in
Now you have a new energy – destiny
To lap at the earth with your rarity
And then forever dissipate into ineffable infinity
You lost everything
But found beauty again
In another’s momentary perception of it.
